We need to make sure that President Obama understands loud and clear that if Monsanto’s GMO alfalfa is approved, you will hold him and their administration officials accountable. During the 2008 election, President Obama made a campaign promise to "encourage organic and local agriculture" and while that sounded great on the campaign trail, it's vital that he lives up to his word and not threaten to undermine the foundation of the organic industry by approving Monsanto's GMO alfalfa.1
Please take a moment to tell President Obama that you expect him to stand with organic farmers and more than 50 million organic consumers.

At the same time you were taking action to try to stop genetic contamination of the organic industry, Big Ag and their corrupt allies in Congress were working to undermine your right to uncontaminated organic food. Earlier this week, three members of Congress sent a letter to Secretary Vilsack demanding that he rush the approval of Monsanto’s GMO alfalfa, despite the scientific certainty that GMO alfalfa will contaminate one of the main feeds for organic livestock.2
It’s time to fight back against Monsanto’s corruption of our food and our democracy.
